McDonald’s Spotlight Dorado Filters

For this project, I was tasked with transforming the three independent films (trailers above) into AR filters for their SXSW premiere. I was given access to the films and free reign on creative interpretation. The goal was not only to give people a more interactive way to experience iconic moments in the films, but to also create something that would stand out on social platforms. This project was a massive challenge for me as it was my first time working with HTML code in combination with Javascript elements and GLB 3D files. We used web-based hosting platform to ease quick access (without the need to download apps) and created quick scan QRs to diminish barriers to entry. The result was a fun addition to a memorable premiere for the 3 films and a wider net of organic social content that we could use to amplify the campaign.
